AXRY-MI

Bearings with Incremental Angle Measuring System

Through a purely inductive measuring system, maximum system accuracy of less than ±2μm arc length can be achieved. The system consists of a solid measuring ring with incremental encoding and scanning heads, available for sizes 150 to 650.

Measuring Principle Inductive Incremental
Available Sizes 150 – 650 mm
Measuring Ring Height 10 mm
Protection Class IP67
Operating Temperature -10°C to +100°C
Output Signal 1VSS / RS-422 / TTL
MI single scanning head (axial)

Single Scanning Head (Axial)

Scanning head mounted axially above the outer ring. Suitable for general accuracy requirements, simple structure, easy installation. A spacer plate is needed to correctly position the scanning head.

MI dual scanning head (radial)

Dual Scanning Head (Radial)

Two scanning heads mounted radially on the outer ring housing surface, positioned 180° apart. Multi-head scanning eliminates eccentricity and radial runout errors for maximum accuracy.

AXRY-MA

Bearings with Absolute Angle Measuring System

Through a purely inductive measuring system, maximum system accuracy of ±1μm arc length can be achieved. Position is known immediately at power-on — no reference run required. The system continuously provides constant absolute position information to the control system.

Measuring Principle Inductive Absolute
Available Sizes 150 – 650 mm
Measuring Ring Height 14 mm
Protection Class IP67
Operating Temperature -10°C to +100°C
Homing Required No (Absolute)
MA single scanning head (axial)

Single Scanning Head (Axial)

Scanning head mounted axially above the outer ring. Absolute encoding — position is known immediately at power-on, no homing run required.

MA dual scanning head (radial)

Dual Scanning Head (Radial)

Scanning heads mounted on the outer ring housing surface. With radial mounting, air gap adjustment is performed via the outer ring OD, eliminating complex measurement gap setup.

Why Choose Integrated Measurement?

The measuring ring is mounted directly on the bearing inner ring, minimizing eccentricity errors for arc-second level accuracy

Highest System Accuracy

The measuring ring is mounted on the inner ring, running nearly concentric with the shaft (worktable). Multi-head solutions achieve < ±1 arc-second accuracy.

Scanning Heads Without Built-In Bearings

No additional friction or heat sources, enabling maximum hollow shaft diameter. Directly mounted on the outer ring for quick integration into various control systems.

Measurement Accuracy

System Accuracy & Total Accuracy

Understanding the key factors affecting measurement accuracy

System Accuracy

The accuracy of the fully assembled angle measuring device mounted only on the AXRY bearing.

  • Measuring ring pitch accuracy (±3μm or ±5μm)
  • Measuring ring eccentricity error (= inner ring 1/2 radial runout)
  • Scanning head interpolation error (IPF-AMO)

Total Accuracy

The accuracy of the fully assembled angle measuring device on the machine axis.

  • Shaft deformation (tilting, etc.)
  • Shape and dimensional deviations of customer shaft and adjacent structures
  • Installation errors

Larger bearing sizes make it easier to achieve high system accuracy. Using multi-head solutions, < ±1 arc-second accuracy has been achieved in real applications. Scanning heads are available with different input frequencies to cover both ultra-precision and high-speed applications.
