Description
RKI and RKIB are internally running permanent-magnet synchronous torque motors (PMSM) with an integrated secondary part. The primary part is a water-cooled, fully encapsulated laminated iron core stator. On the RKI, the secondary part has permanent magnets integrated into a lamination stack, which provides the magnetic return path; the secondary part can only be centred from the inside on one side using a centring ring and is fixed at the end face of the centring ring. The lamination stack minimises eddy-current losses, so the secondary part heats up less than on the RIB and does not limit the motor speed, enabling higher speeds and mechanical power. The magnet configuration variants R20, R22 and V22 correspond to different cost-effectiveness ratios. The RKI5-3P-230xH is divided into sizes 230×50 to 230×150 according to active height.
