The complete order designation for an AXDR bearing consists of the following parts:

In practice: AC and the support ring
In practice -AC is the ordering code for use with a support ring. Where the ring is supported across its whole surface the bearing preload must be matched accordingly; a standard-preload bearing used in that situation shows a marked rise in friction torque. The AXRY-EX catalogue requires -AC to be specified for such mountings. (The AXDR catalogue records AC only as a customized preload match and does not mention support rings; this note reflects practice.)
