Output Interface Selection Guide

Analogue AMSA (TSU / TRU / TMU)

Feature Specification
Signal type Analogue 1 Vpp sine/cosine, 90° phase shift
Signal period 200 µm
Resolution Up to 0.0625 µm (determined by the downstream evaluation electronics)
Current consumption 40 mA
Maximum speed AMSA 3B 3 m/s; AMSA 4B 5 m/s

Digital AMSD (TSD / TRD / TMD)

In the order code, the interface code is followed by three segments: interpolation factor, max. output frequency and reference pulse.

Combination Resolution Interpolation factor Max. output frequency
-010-80 5 µm 10× 8 MHz
-050-80 1 µm 50× 8 MHz
-250-80 0.2 µm 250× 8 MHz

Signals are transmitted differentially according to RS 422 (High > 2.5 V, Low < 0.5 V, rise/fall time < 20 ns). Maximum speed 3 m/s; up to 1 m/s at 0.2 µm resolution. Current consumption 110 mA. Reference pulse ZN is strictly synchronous with the incremental signals; ZF is extended to 550 µs ± 50 µs for evaluation electronics that cannot process continuous short pulses.

Ordering Notes

Important Reminders

  • The AMS 3B carriage has a built-in reading head; the output interface type must be specified
  • The resolution of the analogue AMSA is determined by the interpolation capability of the downstream evaluation electronics
  • The interpolation factor of the digital AMSD is specified in the order code (-010 / -050 / -250)
  • An incremental system requires a homing procedure after power on
  • For absolute measurement, please select the AMSABS 3B series
